Strength Training – a New Dimension in Cancer Care

It is often said that “The cure is worse than the disease – and, at times, this is the feeling of cancer patients completing chemo treatments. While the treatment is life saving, it can also be very debilitating.

In a dramatic step to assist patients to overcome their weakness and sense of fatigue, St. Vincent Medical Center provides a special program called “Dynamic Strength Training”. This fine program helps cancer patients regain their strength and thereby resume their normal lives. Individual attention is given to the specific needs of each participant. The patient is helped to achieve the maximum benefit of the program while proceeding at his or her own pace.

The Foundation helped make this program possible. While strengthening the body, the training also fortifies the spirit.
